Open Source Web Design has a great selection of free web templates, so is a good place to start if you are just at the point of striking out on your own as a webmaster (or webmistress of course) :-). There are literally hundreds of free, public domain and open source web templates here - be sure to check the licensing arrangements.
Sitemap Generator offers a free online service to create a standards compliant sitemap. If, like me, you use Google Adsense on your website then a sitemap is essential. A sitemap is also a good idea for your visitors. This free online sitemap service works and works very well.
PD Photo offers public domain, royalty free stock photographs. This photographers website is a fantastic resource if you are looking for images that have absolutely no restrictions. The webmaster here has placed his own photographic creations in the public domain for any use including commercial.
